Kevin Sheedy Coaches Seattle Grizzlies!
I did a recent post about the Seattle Grizzlies. Now look what happens. Just got wind that Sheedy was in the USA and stopped by to give Seattle Grizzles a pep talk. He must have read my post. I knew have should have flown over for a game.

We Need an Information Technology Representative Body
Its about time we banded together and got some real clout! I just got wind that 12 months ago Wizard was in deep financial trouble and re-financed. It is totally unethical for them still take contractors money knowing that they were going under.
At the very least they should have made provision to ensure that income derived from the people earning the money was set aside to be paid to them. After all, its not Wizard’s money. They didn’t earn it! Plain and simple.
This kind of thing can’t be allowed to happen again. We need to band together and form some a representative body that pushes back hard on these kind of agencies. I don’t know anyone who is a big fan of their PIMP so lets get organised and take control back off the agencies and put it where it really belongs - back with the people who do the real work!
Who’s with me?

Wizard Goes Broke!
As someone that this could at one point in time have impacted on I am very concerned about this.
It is absolutly disgraceful that a company that takes loads of money from people who actually do the real work is now going to steal even more money from them. I personally know and have spoken to IT Consultants that this effects. This is an issue that may have much bigger implications than people expect. For my part I will be adding new clauses to contracts that I sign that some companies will not be happy with. But if the PIMPS want the money for nothing then they better make sure they look after the bank that feeds them.

Scott 24Hr Mountain Bike Report
We had a blast. We didn’t win and didn’t expect to. We just wanted to come out alive! I have welts in places that are not discussed but pain heals. I didnt break any bones. I actually didnt even get a scratch on me.
I did manage to complete most of one lap running due to a little problem with my lights. I also had to bail at one point and let the bike go for an explore down the hill on its own but it was all good in the end.
Will I be back next year? Maybe, if someone lends me a new bike!

Biggest Loser – Week One Results
I kicked arse! Lost 4 kilos in one week. Now I only have to lose 1kg per week for the next 7 weeks to put my total body fat percentage loss at 14%.
Then all I have to do is grab the cash and head for the pub! My shout.

24 Hour Mountain Bike Race
I just agreed to go in a 24 hour mountain bike race in two weeks time. I have not riden my bike for more than 2 years. Last time did I broke my collar bone and 3 ribs….for the second time in 12 months.
I must be crazy agreeing to do this. But it will strip the fat away for the Biggest Loser Challenge!

Work Weight Loss Challenge
We have a little Biggest Loser challenge going at work for the next 8 weeks. The biggest percentage loss wins the cash. About $1000 big ones. I weighed in this morning at a fantastic 78.8kgs. I was very happy with that but let me explain. I have been eating like a pig for days on purpose so I could weigh more to give myself a chance of winning.
I plan to go from 78.8kgs down to 65kgs. Thats 17.5% loss of original body weight and a good chance of winning.
So let the game begin as I forge my path to victory through hard training and strategically placed donuts around the competitions desks.

Canberra Times Fun Run Report
I finally committd to running a real event. Glad I did becuase the last time was when I was kid running in the Sun Fun Super Run across the Westgate bridge in Melbourne. Showing my age now.
I hooked up with Jacqui and Chris and we ended up about half way back in the pack. The wait time for the start wasn’t too bad but next year I would probably start at the back and let the crowd sort itself out first. It was a bit of pain trying to weave in and out of people for the first 2 kms.
My goal was to run under 55 based on recent training times. I went through the first 5km feeling pretty good and managing under 5min pace. I didnt have the kick left at the end I was hoping for but did manage my best 10km time since I cant remember when: 48:08
The splits
4:48, 4:51, 4:49, 4:56, 4:59, 4:51, 4:45, 4:48, 4:41, 4:37 = 48:08

HALO3 Mini Review
The game is awesome. I am a big HALO fan so there is no way I was not going to love the game. The graphics are better. The game play is better. The AI is better. The levels are bigger and better.
The only question is how will manage to rip the controls out of the kids hands.
