New Balance Pace Tight – Review
I realised yesterday that I needed some new shorts and some pants to keep my legs warm during the cold months. Although I would have loved to grab another pair of skins I didnt want another grilling at next months expenditure committee meeting. So headed off to Rebel Sport to check out what was on offer.
Item: New Balance Mens Pace Tight
Size: Medium
Colour: Black
Price: $44.95 (Rebel Sport) – $65 (New Balance Store)
Review: One word. Impressive. I did 6km in these pants last night and I am very impressed. First off these are nothing like Skins. They are tight but you can tell immediatley that there is no real compression happening. So forget trying to buy yourself a cheap pair of Skins like pants . What they are however is unbelievably comfortable. There was no bunching behind the knee, falling down or any kind of uncomfortable feeling at all.
They are also very light so you dont feel weighted down like you do when you wear a heavy pair of track pants. Another fantastic feature of these pants is the warmth. My “how many leg hairs can you see” indiciator topped out at just two!
I am only 175cm tall (5′ 7″) and I found the leg length was too long for me. But if I get a small then they are too tight. They joy of being just below average. But I can put up with a little excess baggage around the ankles.
Made of: 90% Nylon 10% Elastane
Features: Comfy draw string waist, little internal pocket for key.
Good Points: Weight, awesome comfort, price, warmth.
The not so Good: Little internal pocket not big enough to fit security pass, No different leg lengths.
Buy them if: You are running in cold climate and want a light, tight fitting, warm pair of cheap pants to run in.
Dont buy them if: You really want a pair compression pants like Skins.
